The Process

Requirements

  • For a mobile website to work, it needs to be set up on either a subdomain (e.g. www.mob.mysite.com) or a separate domain (e.g. www.mysite.mobi) If you are thinking about a new domain for your mobile website, I would recommend a .mobi suffix.
  • If you want to redirect customers from your current website (when viewed on a mobile phone), to the mobile version, a detect & redirect script needs to be placed on the current site. The necessary code can either be added by your web designer or I can do it (website hosting details are required).

The Costs

The cost for a mobile website is £120 a year (or £12 monthly). If you require a new domain name for your mobile site (e.g. mysite.mobi), the cost is £10 a year.
